Rose's View

I had to move into a care home because my doctor and family felt I could no longer manage at home on my own. Although I was upset when my daughter told me I needed to move from the family home I knew she was right. The home is warm and friendly and the staff are extremely helpful. Our manager is a trained nurse and she’s extremely interested in the well-being of all the residents and that makes it a very pleasant place to live.

Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are quite happy to go out shopping for me. And standards of care are very high too. Hygiene is second to none with rooms cleaned and bedding changed daily.

Obviously I’ve lost the independence I once had. But the way the home is run gives me complete freedom to do much as I would if I was still living in my own home. I’m not really a breakfast person, so the staff bring a cup of tea and toast to my room. In fact where I choose to eat my meals – whether it’s in my own room or the dining room – is very much my choice.
